The best things to do in Stratford Upon Avon

Stratford Upon Avon is widely known as the charming birthplace and residence of Shakespeare. It's a delightful little market town adorned with absolutely beautiful canals. Having family in Stratford Upon Avon, I've enjoyed many days exploring its scenic surroundings. However, last summer, I had an epiphany. Despite my frequent visits, I had never taken the time to experience any of the tourist attractions. It was high time for a change! Explore the Canals of Stratford Upon Avon

As someone who has always found solace by the water, it's no surprise that my first port of call in Stratford was the enchanting canals. Picture this: a leisurely stroll along the water's edge, surrounded by the gentle murmur of the river and the charming architecture of this historic town. It's a view straight out of a storybook.

But let me tell you, it's not just about the view – it's an immersive experience. As I ambled along the canal banks, I couldn't help but marvel at the timeless beauty that Stratford's waterways offer. The reflections of the buildings on the water, the occasional ripple caused by a passing boat, and the overall tranquility make it a haven for anyone seeking a moment of peace.

Shakespaw Cat Cafe

This was such an exciting experience for me! I've always dreamt of visiting a Cat Cafe, so when I discovered this one online, I knew we just had to check it out. While it's not mandatory to book in advance, I highly recommend it – the process is super easy and can be done online.

Upon arrival, you simply ring the doorbell, and a friendly staff member ensures none of the adorable kitties make a great escape. Once inside, you're greeted by the most charming little coffee shop, exuding cozy cottagecore vibes that instantly make you feel at home. Of course, there are some ground rules, like refraining from picking up the cats or feeding them. However, aside from that, you're free to spend your time petting and enjoying the delightful company of these beautiful feline friends. I absolutely loved it and would highly recommend the experience

Having heard about this fascinating spot online, we expected a glimpse into the Tudor era, but the experience far exceeded our expectations. Tudor World not only showcases intriguing historical artifacts but also features immersive themed attractions. We were enthralled by the interactive exhibits, where we explored different rooms and engaged in activities that truly brought the Tudor period to life. It was an absolutely fantastic adventure, allowing us to step into the past.

Stratford's streets are lined with an array of unique boutiques, quaint shops, and bustling markets, creating a shopping haven for every taste. The atmosphere was vibrant, and we found ourselves immersed in a blend of traditional and contemporary stores. From stylish boutiques to crafty artisan shops, the variety was impressive. We particularly enjoyed the Bubble Tea!

Go On A Boat Ride

Having spent a good chunk of my childhood in Stratford-upon-Avon, I've always had a longing to take a boat ride along the river. It was already getting late in the day when we finally decided to go for it, and with no prior booking, we were a tad anxious about missing out. Turns out, we needn't have worried! There are numerous spots along the river where you can hop on a boat, so if you have the time, definitely go for it and enjoy the ride!

Magic Alley

We were totally taken aback by this hidden gem! I had stumbled upon a fantastic store called Magic Alley online, boasting enchanting goodies. However, when we actually visited, we were in for a delightful surprise. This place not only offers magical merchandise but also hosts themed attractions. During our visit, it was Alice in Wonderland-themed, although they change it up regularly.

We were absolutely blown away by the incredible experience. We had the chance to play detective for a day, following fun clues through various themed rooms to answer a question. It was such a fantastic time!

We were completely amazed by our visit to Shakespeare’s birthplace! I had read about it online, but nothing could have prepared us for how incredible it actually was in person. This historic house, nestled in the heart of Stratford-upon-Avon, is not just a museum—it’s a living piece of history. As soon as we stepped inside, we were transported back to Shakespeare's time, with fascinating exhibits and immersive displays. We even got to explore the rooms where the great playwright spent his early years. The experience was absolutely captivating, and we couldn't help but feel like we were walking in the footsteps of literary genius.
